Thanks for the run down on the best bread in town. I never really liked Jean Jacques. Unfortunately the best bread in town has sinced closed its doors and this was Frenchy's over at Gayton crossing. The hubby and I even offered to pay for the recipe of his rustic French bread that was simply out of this world. But we never got back to him and then suddenly he was closed for good. :( However, we found a good substitute in Can Can's bread...though not quite Frenchy's it is the best we could find so far...
Which is why I am venturing into making my own sour dough starter...

A friend of ours brought us a loaf of Billy Bread and we fell in love. Great bread to "sop" up sauces, etc.
